I feel like I'm constantly seeing articles shared daily about life as a SAHM versus a working mother and life in one perspective over the other and yaddy yaddy ya

Can we just all please stop bickering and writing about who has it the hardest? Can we all just agree to disagree on whether or not it is okay to be jealous of one over the other? Can we all just stop and say to each and every mama that you're doing a damn good job no matter what you choose?

That's what I'd like to do today.

Good job mama!

No matter what you choose, no matter what you do, you ARE a supermom!

We could sit here and write about the pros and cons of staying at home or the pros and cons of working away from home. We could sit here and talk about how I'm blessed to stay at home with my children but you're also blessed because you get a thirty minute lunch break to eat in peace and play on your iphone without sticky fingers reaching for it. We could do this for days....

That's the case with everything in life, really. There are pros and cons to each and everything around us and especially in the world of parenting. There are pros to breastfeeding and there are cons to co-sleeping. There are pros and cons of vaccinations and pros and cons of letting your toddler watch television. Everything we all do as mothers, as parents, presents us with a list of pros and cons. Many things we do set us up to be judged; and often times we are our own worst critic.

Personally, I'd like to pat a working mother on the back for everything that she does. Mostly because I can't imagine working eight or more hours a day and then having to go home and still do housework, cook dinner and tend after little human beings. I know that after a hard day of work, I used to want to just go home and pour a glass of wine and just chill. Well, working mamas can't necessarily do that. They spend all day away from their babies, exhaust themselves at a job that they may or may not love and then go home and work some more when in actuality they just want to cuddle with said babies. They are supermoms 100% and should definitely earn free foot massages at the end of everyday with complimentary chocolates.

And SAHMs...we are also supermoms. We spend all day wiping poopy butts, fixing dinners that don't get eaten and doing mounds of laundry that never end. Our adult interaction is very little if any and we love to pretend like we still look cute during the day, but in actuality we rarely get out of our pajamas before 3pm and we hardly ever wear makeup. We receive no "sick" days and while we love what we do, sometimes a day at work sounds like a good break. You could even stretch this category to focus on WAHMs and since I'm new at being a "WAHM" all I want to say is "how in the hell do you manage that?"

You see, motherhood is hard for us all. Period.
Whether we choose Goldfish or Annie's Cheddar Bunnies, for some of us, even that is a freaking hard decision. And one that still leads us to get ridiculed for.

So thank you to each and every mama for going above and beyond for your children. For making sacrifices for your family, for working hard at whatever your "job" is, and for just being a darn good mama. There isn't enough recognition out there for ALL of us. No matter what our job title is, no matter what our salary is and no matter how fancy our day to day clothes are, we are all carrying the same job title, and that is the title of being a "mother." It's the best and most important title any of us will ever have.

We all wear the supermom cape and we ALL should receive foot massages and complimentary chocolates (share this post with your significant other).

Now, I'm off to save the world.
One poopy diaper at a time.
May the force be with you all.

Thoughts, supermoms?
